THE NOTEBOOK- DECONSTRUCTION

The Notebook
•Oceanic sun-rise and slow pace music at beginning to set a scene of serenity  and  calm  which allows us to imagine this genre to un through the entire film.
•Fade to black shot as the film begins may be used to signify the events of the film.
•A narrative voiceover at the beginning speaking thoughts of the character and what his life entails and background information.
•A mid shot to allow viewers see the simple surroundings of his room which could also reflect his simple lifestyle. This then leads to a long shot to exaggerate the points of simplicity in which he is living
•Over the shoulder shots used frequently. Minimal high angle shots when main character is introduced by his name to show significance  and main role in the film.
•Close up shots to show characters emotions i.e distress/happiness
•Use of Flash back as the character tells a story it shows what had previously happened in his younger days
•Eye line match where the young man is looking at the ferries  wheel where the girl is riding on it.
